Uniform Closing Instrucitons Seminar

Thank you to all of you who participated in our Uniform Closing Instructions Seminar. We appreciate and value your feedback, so please post any comments and / or concerns you may have regarding the proposed Uniform Closing Instructions. This is a forum where everyone may speak freely about how you see these changes influencing the way we do business, and we encourage you to share your thoughts.

There were a wide range of issues discussed today, and for the benefit of all who were unable to attend, as well as to establish an accessible record of the discussion we will post a recap of the various comments later this evening. In the meantime, let your voice be heard!

Remember that you do not have to be one of the attendees of the Seminar to post to this blog.

These are exciting times in the Title & Escrow Industry. Change is no longer happening at a snail's pace. Some of the changes are excellent ones and will add efficiency and clarity to the closing process. Other changes will impact the Escrow Agent's role and relationship to the other players in a real estate transaction, especially on those transactions that include lender financing. The Escrow Agent is now being viewed as a gatekeeper and (if the proposed RESPA changes are adopted) may be considered as borrower's advocate. How do you feel about the responsibilities being placed on the Escrow Agent?
